Wanted criminal arrested in Dwarka


A criminal wanted in nearly 100 robbery and snatching cases and carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 was arrested here, police said today.

Manish, 35, was arrested by team of Special Cell from Old Palam Road Dwarka on August 17. He tried to flee by firing at the policemen in which one constable Ombir had a narrow escape, said a statement by Special Cell.

On an earlier occasion in June, Daryaganj police team had laid a trap to catch Manish near Geeta Colony flyover, but he dodged the waiting police party as a pillion rider and his close aide Manoj shot at them and injured a constable, it said.

Following the incident, a cash reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for his arrest by the Commissioner of Police.

The accused is wanted in nearly 100 cases and has been involved in 61 snatching cases.

All 10 on board dead as Ranchi-bound BSF plane crashed in Dwarka near shahabad village

New Delhi: All 10 people on board the Ranchi-bound Border Security Force plane that crashed on Tuesday morning in Delhi have died. Eight bodies have been recovered and two more are being pulled out from the wreckage of the twin-engine Superking aircraft.
The tragedy took place within minutes of the plane taking off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport for Jharkhand's capital at 9:37 AM from runway 28. As soon as the twin-engine plane was airborne, it developed a technical snag.

 


 
There were 10 technicians on board the plane who were going to Ranchi to repair a helicopter.

One of its engine malfunctioned and the plane was assigned runway 10 for landing. Just before the approach of the runway, the plane hit some trees and then a boundary wall near a sewage treatment plant.
The plane, manufactured in 1994 and registered in BSF's name in 1995, crashed into the sewage treatment plant at around 9:47 AM and burst into flames. While those on board the plane were killed, some labourers on the ground were also injured.
The incident took place near a railway track in the Shahbad Mohammadpur village of Sector 8 Dwarka in Delhi. The plane was carrying a group of technicians who were going to Ranchi to repair a helicopter.

Along with the pilot of the plane Captain Bhagwati Prasad, the ones who lost their lives in the crash are Deputy Commandants D Kumar and Rajdesh Shibrain. The BSF technicians who died in the crash are Raghvendra Kumar, CL Sharma, SN Sharma, Ravinder Kumar, Surrender Singh, DP Chauhan, KR Rawat.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BSF Director General DK Pathak and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung visited the crash site. MOS Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma called it an unfortunate incident and said that an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
Witnesses said that the plane lost control soon after taking off from the airport. They said that there was huge fire seen in the area after the crash.

Palam Colony couple crushed under car after dwarka expressway collision


A couple were smashed under the wheels of a speeding vehicle on the Delhi-Gurgaon road on Wednesday after the bike they were riding hit a speed breaker and lost control.

Parveen Singh Rathore (37) and his wife Anupama (34), who resided in Palam Colony Delhi with their two school-going youngsters, met with the mishap around 11.30am at the ancient Sirhaul toll square. They were quickly raced to a private healing center in DLF City Phase 3 by the car driver, where specialists proclaimed them dead on arrival.

The car, with a provisional enlistment was being driven by Samira Sisodia, a lady official of a multinational organization. She was accused of section 279(rash driving) and 304A(death by carelessness) of the Indian Penal Code.

DCP East Deepak Saharan said, "The vehicle had a makeshift enlistment number and we have appropriated the auto. We will capture the blamed on Thursday and will deliver her at a city court. The blamed's spouse Dinesh Sisodia has been requested that create the vehicle enrollment records".

Rathore worked in a glass organization at Jharsa chowk segment 15, and his wife worked with a privately owned business in DLF Cyber City. Police said it took a couple of hours to find the relatives of the casualties and that it was when they came to at night that a body of evidence could be enrolled against the charged.
